From The CEO

Dear Customers and Partners,

Due to the current economic climate, some businesses may be struggling to maintain productivity while leveraging fewer resources. Businesses that utilize DiCentral’s EDI service are already ahead of the game in terms of productivity and efficiency of order processing. With EDI, orders are received and processed quicker, requiring less overall resources and time than other methods of document transmission.

To further lessen the impact of resource reduction, we offer additional features with our EDI service that not only add efficiency but convenience to day-to-day EDI operations. One addition that is featured in this month’s newsletter is DiWeb’s Forward Document functionality. It allows you to forward EDI documents to other locations in your supply chain network, enabling the necessary parties to obtain order information quickly and accurately. End-to-end order procedures are expedited—a win-win situation for all involved.

EDI Forwarding — Simplifying your Business Flow

EDI Forwarding allows DiCentral users to send electronic copies of any EDI documents in their DiCentral account manually to any other parties inside or outside the DiCentral network. Documents can be forwarded securely to a broker, warehouse, manufacturer, or other destination of the user’s choice to provide value-added visibility and accessibility for their supply chain.

EDI Forwarding is an on-demand tool. The DiCentral user can decide which specific document or group of documents to forward, and to any number of recipients.

Forwarding capability can be added inexpensively to a DiCentral account upon request. DiCentral will add the Forwarding tab to the account mailbox toolset and establish the connection to the specified receivers via their preferred method.

To use the Forwarding tool, select the document(s) in the mailbox to be forwarded, and click the “Forward Transaction” tab at the bottom of the screen. A window appears with a list of the available parties that were specified as recipients. Mark the checkboxes beside one or more of the parties who will receive the forward, and press the “Submit” button. The recipient will receive the document electronically (delivery times vary with the transmission method). If the recipient has their own DiCentral account, they will receive the forwarded document in their DiCentral inbox with a flag indicating it was forwarded by you.

EDI forwarding is just one more way DiCentral provides value to your supply chain operation. To add this feature to your DiCentral account, please call 281- 480-1121 ext. 777 or email support@ dicentral.com.

Maximize Cost Savings with International Sourcing

It is recommended in today’s volatile economy to explore all options for sourcing in order for businesses to remain competitive. With the expansion of technology and global trade, the popularity in international sourcing is increasing, most notably Vietnam sourcing.

Businesses worldwide have taken advantage of the cost savings and efficiency that Vietnam manufacturers provide, as evident in the country’s steadily growing export rate. Vietnam demonstrates its expanding manufacturing capability in several industries, including toys, home décor, footwear, apparel, and jewelry. The country’s competitive cost structure and its eagerness to establish new markets for its products make it a viable sourcing option for businesses in all industries and sizes. The value derived from Vietnam sourcing arises from the country’s commitment to gain a competitive advantage over other international sourcing options.

Vietnam’s rapidly growing consumer goods manufacturing capability makes it an excellent choice for new sourcing needs. Vietnam’s GDP ($90.88 billion USD in 2008) has experienced significant growth in the past several years. Annual GDP growth rate was 8.5% in 2008, 8.2% in 2007, 8.5% in 2006, and 7.7% in 2005. Vietnam’s exports to the US increased 800% from 2001 to 2006. On January 11, 2007, Vietnam became a member of the World Trade Organization. As of January 1, 2009, Vietnam has made significant commitments to all of its US trade relations.

Opportunities are plentiful for those businesses who are examining ways to cut costs in their operations, while maintaining quality, dependability, and sustainability in their products and services.

Resources on many tiers are available for exploration into Vietnam sourcing. Interested parties can acquire answers to their sourcing questions, or they may want more in-depth information by attending one-on-one local meetings or online seminars. On a more advanced resource tier, inquirers can attend events and meetings directly in Vietnam for a comprehensive view into the sourcing process, and possible assistance in connections with leading consumer goods manufacturers and business community experts. No matter the choice of inquiry, buyers can gain an understanding of the benefits and value associated with Vietnam sourcing and the sustainable results it can bring to their operations.

For more information on the ever growing trend of Vietnam sourcing, or to inquire about our upcoming Private Event in Vietnam on April 19, 2009, please contact Quang Le at 281.480.1121 x142 or quang-le@dicentral.com.
