EDI Integration (DiIntegrator): The Complete Solution

DiIntegrator is a powerful desktop package that integrates your accounting software with DiCentral’s Web- based EDI service.

With DiIntegrator you can manipulate large volumes of data from multiple retailers – all at lightning speed. In short, DiIntegrator is the complete out-of- the-box EDI solution for small and medium sized businesses.

This month, DiCentral officially launches DiIntegrator, a powerful “workflow -centric”. DiIntegrator provides localized industry - specific solutions – all the while working seamlessly with DiCentral’s Web-based hosted EDI services and a retail supplier’s ERP or accounting software.

“DiIntegrator is more than just data transformation,” says DiCentral’s Director of Product Management Carl Padovano. “DiIntegrator is a complete workflow process solution for the mid market retail supplier.”

Says Padovano: “Quite simply, DiIntegrator is a set of industry specific solutions designed specifically for the retail supplier. DiIntegrator can be downloaded in three versions: Base, Standard, and Professional. Each version has a number of options.

Base Edition

DiIntegrator Base is designed for the retail supplier who is enjoying DiCentral’s Web- based solution and has relatively low volumes of transactions..

Base serves local integration requirements by providing data in the form of customer and retailer specific flat files to the supplier’s local system whether it is Quick- Books or SAP.

Standard Edition

Standard offers a powerful set of DiCentral solutions. Standard includes DiIntegrator’s powerful Allocation Wizard as well as access to all Order Level Process Agents and Industry solutions.

Partner Policy profiles insure that suppliers comply accurately with their customers’ specific carton marking and EDI process requirements. In addition, Standard meshes easily with suppliers’ local workflow process.

DiIntegrator Standard Edition is a great solution for suppliers who pass orders to an EDI-capable public warehouse or third party fulfillment organization.

It is designed for suppliers that require high-speed data manipulation for order level documents.

Professional Edition

For the retail supplier organization that requires flawless execution according to the rules and policies of multiple trading partners, DiIntegrator Professional delivers speed and accuracy from the management of serialized shipping containers to the management and routing of multiple shipments.

Professional provides seven retail specific modeling techniques to predict what will go into a carton. ASN and Shipment Management allow for the assignment and re-assignment of orders and cartons according to last minute changes in routing and unexpected changes in transportation equipment.

As more and more retail supply chains require predictive data to streamline transportation and material handling, DiIntegrator Process Agents provide just the right combination of pre-processing and flexibility to keep a supplier’s operation running efficiently.

Solution Kelps Suppliers Process Large PO Volume

When Sequin, a jewelry wholesaler to America’s biggest department store chains, learned it would soon receive a huge order from one of its customers, Sequin needed a way to allocate shipments to more than 1500 stores and print labels and packing slips as a batch rather than one at a time.

Enter DiIntegrator.

“DiIntegrator makes use of a local PC’s processing power to handle large orders,” says Federico Restrepo, Sequin’s former EDI coordinator. “It’s an application that is installed locally, and it talks to DiCentral and to us. Files are downloaded from the application and processed in the computer, and when all the documents are ready to be transmitted, they get sent from within the program to DiCentral. DiCentral then passes them along to all our trading partners.”

Restrepo likes the program’s friendly user interface. “It helps things a lot,” he says. “It’s going to be much easier – from getting an order to processing 870’s producing reports and processing invoices – everything that is EDI related both for financial documents and shipping purposes”.

Restrepo says DiCentral’s solution represents the “next step in EDI.”

“A Web-based solution is great when you have to process orders that are not so big,” he says. “But when you have customers where you have to pack by store, that’s when DiCentral’s solution comes in. It gives you the ability to print huge files and huge numbers of orders in an instant. It gives you the ability to print all the labels in one shot and all the packing slips in one shot and all the packing slips in one click.”

One of Berry Jewelry's customers required that all of their shipments be sent directly to their 1500 stores. Every single package required that it be tracked, labeled, and invoiced.

Not only that but Berry Jewelry would have had to enter exceptions and give each package its own bill of lading number. And all of this in less than three days turnaround.

Using conventional EDI software would have taken a platoon of people, about 30 in all, inputting data and printing out labels. "Without DiCentral’s Integrator solution, I doubt I would have taken the order," says Percy Mijares, Berry Jewelry’s self described "CFO/IT guy".

"It’s literally a one-click system," says Mijares. "DiCentral gets the information from the client – the style number, the price, the location, and so on. This is downloaded into the Integrator. I put in my inventory, and then click. The system gives me the picking tickets, the labels for the boxes, and uploads the files back to the customer. "
